FAQs about PE

What is premature ejaculation (PE)?
Premature ejaculation (PE) is a distressing male sexual dysfunction that affects men of all ages, and can worsen over time. Ejaculation that occurs before starting sexual intercourse or within two minutes after starting intercourse is considered ‘premature’. Recurrent premature ejaculation can have a negative impact on the quality of life for many men and their sexual partners. The inability to delay ejaculation can cause significant distress, frustration, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties and avoidance of sexual intimacy.

The causes of recurrent premature ejaculation are relatively complex and challenging to treat. Lifelong premature ejaculation is a primary medical condition caused by uncontrollable physiological processes. Other forms of persistent premature ejaculation can be associated with heightened apprehension or performance anxiety during sexual activity. All forms of recurrent premature ejaculation may be helped by effective drug treatment.

How common is premature ejaculation?
Premature ejaculation (PE) is more common than erectile dysfunction and as many as 23% of men worldwide report having a problem with premature ejaculation. Many women also report that their male partners ejaculate faster than they would like.

How effective is Zertane™ for the treatment of premature ejaculation?
In clinical trials, men with lifelong premature ejaculation taking Zertane™ had significantly delayed intravaginal ejaculatory latency times (IELT) during intercourse. These men also reported significant improvement in satisfaction with sexual intercourse, increased control over ejaculation and less interpersonal distress for themselves and their partner. Their female partners also reported improved satisfaction with sexual intercourse.

Clinical data comparisons indicate that Zertane™ surpasses the efficacy reported for dapoxetine (Priligy®), an SSRI antidepressant-type drug and the only oral drug approved anywhere for the treatment of premature ejaculation.

How safe is Zertane™ for the treatment of premature ejaculation?
Human clinical trials demonstrated that Zertane™ treatment for men with premature ejaculation did not cause any serious side effects. The few non-serious side effects reported were only very rarely enough to stop these men from using Zertane™ to treat their premature ejaculation. The established Zertane™ drug dose for delaying ejaculation has a decades-long safety record that is superior to SSRI antidepressant-type drugs. SSRI antidepressant-type drugs can have serious adverse medical effects in addition to frustrating sexual side effects.

Is Zertane™ taken as needed or continuously?
Zertane™ is taken as needed before sexual intercourse and is not required to be taken on a daily basis. Zertane™ can delay ejaculation during sexual activity that occurs 8 to 12 hours after one dose.

Are there any other drugs like Zertane™ available – on the internet or elsewhere?
No. Zertane™ is a patented drug with multiple, unique actions that work together to delay ejaculation. The combined actions and safety of this drug have been established over more than 30 years of scientific research and are quite different from other available drugs. The distinctive non-standard Zertane™ dosage for premature ejaculation that is not available in generic form will only be available by prescription from physicians and dispensed by registered pharmacies. Off-label substitution of unapproved drugs could result in unsafe or ineffective drug exposure during sexual activity.

Is Zertane™ patented for protection against competition?
Yes, Zertane™ is a proprietary drug protected by issued patents and supplementary patent filings in the U.S. and internationally. Additional proprietary protections include a non-standard drug dose that is not otherwise available and which effectively delays ejaculation without unacceptable sexual side effects.
